What I Wore

I've mentioned before on here how bad I am at taking outfit photos especially when I have to take them of myself, but I really wanted to show you this dress, that I wish I had photographed before I cut it up and made it better. But you'll have to believe me when I tell you that this dress was none too flattering when I bought it for $7.99, and that I almost put it back on the rack...

When I bought the dress the weird half ascot tie and the long cuffed sleeves and mid calf length really threw me off, and I couldn't quite picture the dress any other way, but after a few snips in all the right places and a little hemming this quickly became on of my favourite dresses. 

I decided to pack it on a recent work getaway, and wore it on a night out.  I will admit I almost chickened out at the last minute and wore ho-hum pants, but then decided that I didn't care what anyone thought, pulled my shoulders back, and WORE the dress.  Sometimes the risk pays off.   I should really trust my gut more often and take more risks in general because usually my doubt looses and I'm sure we can all agree there is no better feeling than taking a risk and sticking the landing.

Unfortunately this grainy photo is all I have to show, and I really am kicking myself for not documenting the transformation, but I'm sure there will be plenty more thirfted dresses that are just waiting to be updated that I'll share with you.  Until that time find something you'd love to wear but are to afraid to and wear it proudly!
