Making Do

I'll admit, I left some of my Christmas shopping to the last minute this year. But as of today I'm all done.  Next comes the fun part... wrapping!  I'm always interested in figuring out new and creative ways to wrap presents, and since I've conveniently run out of wrapping paper the week before Christmas, I've decided that I'm going to try and make do with what I have instead of going out to buy paper.

Since I found some pretty great ideas, I thought I'd share them with you and hopefully inspire you to recycle/upcycle and get creative!

Use a sewing pattern to wrap your boxes! They also make fabulous bows or would be ideal as a substitute for tissue paper.

Jazz up a brown paper bag.  The scalloped edge is such a sweet detail.

I love this idea! I'm always coming across beautiful silk scarves but I so rarely wear them.  Now I can pick them up and keep them on hand for wrapping.  Bonus.... a little extra gift for your loved one.

Using a doily to wrap a Christmas gift is pretty apres pos for this time of year since they look so much like snow flakes.  This would look great with red and green accents.

Now that I have all these great ideas, I know what I'll be doing tonight!!
