The Best Gift

When I was younger I loved writing letters. Addressing the envelope, adding little gifts inside, licking the stamps and putting it in the mail slot.  I had a few pen pals growing up and writing to them once a month was a treat.  Getting a letter back, now that was even better!  There is something about a written letter that email will never achieve.  Don't get me wrong, I love the convenience of email and probably couldn't go without it now, but I miss the anticipation of getting a letter in the mail.  I will admit now, that I'm not as disciplined as I once was with correspondence, but I always like to send out at least a few holiday cards this time of year.

The first year Clayton and I were married, we went all out, and made loads of handmade Christmas cards for friends and family.  It was a lot of work, but the effort was appreciated. This year, I made up a few homemade cards to send to family.  I know I love a good Christmas card, and knowing that someone has you in their thoughts around the holidays is a wonderful notion that is gift enough for me.

The card I made this year was post card style with a simple greeting so that I could write a little note on the back.  It was simple, and vintage inspired.  Just my style!

One more thing before I go, don't forget about the pop up shop tomorrow! It's looking like it's going to be a great day!  Hope to see you there.
